SASKATCHEWAN – Golden Band Resources of Saskatoon has received ministerial approval for an open pit mine at the Golden Heart project 190 km north of La Ronge. The approval was given based on technical and public review of the environmental impact statement submitted by the company.

Golden Band will now apply for the applicable construction and operational permits and licences. While in commercial production there will be some 25 full time jobs at Golden Heart. Approximately 460,000 tonnes of ore will be mined during the planned four-year life of the project. Ore will be milled at the existing Jolu gold mill that has been in production since January 2011, treating ore from the Lloyd underground mine and the EP open pit.

The company’s website at GoldenBandResources.com has both an excellent photo gallery and videos.
