CASA BERARDI, Quebec INTERNATIONAL TAURUS RESOURCES of Vancouver is moving ahead rapidly with the development of the Fenelon gold mine. The new portal is complete and the decline had advanced 30 metres underground as of Wednesday, Nov. 19. The first ore should be mucked approximately four months from now, and it will be treated at Richmont's Camflo mill near Val d'Or, Que.

The Fenelon project is a joint venture of Taurus (62% and project manager) and FAIRSTAR EXPLORATIONS (38%). Plans call for driving a 262-metre main decline, 484 metres of spiral declines and stations, 233 metres of vein access, and 185 metres of drilling laterals. Surface and underground drilling (5,000 metres) will further define the resource. So far the project is in the test mining stage. Earlier, a 14,000-tonne bulk sample was processed at the Camflo mill, and 97% of the contained gold was recovered. Although small, the Fenelon deposit is high-grade, averaging 30 g/t Au over widths from 0.5-6.0 metres. Taurus estimates $3.2 million must be invested to extract the first 10,000 tonnes of ore, after which the project will become self-financing.

Details of the geology at Fenelon are available at www.taurusresources.com.
