NUNAVUT - At long last, and after several years of doing extra environmental studies as requested by the Nunavut Impact Review Board, MIRAMAR MINING of Vancouver has finally begun site preparation for its Doris North gold mine in the Hope Bay Greenstone Belt. The mine received approval in September 2006. The company is now in the regulatory phase of permitting and has been working on applications for various licences and permits as well as responding to agency requests by providing technical information.

Site work is beginning first with construction of a marine jetty and a beach letdown area. Both are needed to receive barges carrying equipment, fuel and supplies. The first equipment is expected in August 2007.

At the same time Miramar has two rigs testing for new discoveries along the Madrid trend. The targets include Kink (10 km north), Windy Lake (1 km west) and Nexus (10 km south).

The companys corporate presentation of April 2007 is available at www.MiramarMining.com in the Investor section.
