ONTARIO - Wesdome Gold Mines of Toronto is developing its Mishi gold property near Wawa for year-round operation for an initial five-year period. Pit dewatering, brush clearing and waste pad construction have begun, and pre-stripping will begin shortly. The company has previously operated the open pit on a seasonal basis.

Ore from the Mishi pit will be trucked 2 km to the Eagle River mill to supplement ore from the Eagle River mine. Wesdome expects 1,000 oz of gold will be recovered from the Mishi material each month. Successful exploration at Mishi may increase the life of the project.

The Mishi project has a start-up cost of $1.3 million and a sustaining capital cost of $500,000. Average operating costs of C$914/oz are projected. Proven and probable mineral reserves at the Mishi pit total 709,400 tonnes with an average grade of 2.66 g/t Au. From that, 52,952 oz of gold will be recovered over five years.

Wesdome has posted details about the Mishi project and its other gold producers at www.Wesdome.com.
