NOVA SCOTIA – Ressources Appalaches of Rimouski, QC, says the mill at its Dufferin gold mine has almost reached nameplate capacity – 245 out of 300 t/d – during the first two weeks of August. Production has been steadily ramped up from 75 t/d over the last four months.

Appalaches says the main parts of the mill are working properly, including the grinding, gravity and flotation circuits. The automatic sampler and the filter press remain to be optimized. Four doré bars have been poured and sent to the refinery.

The company began dewatering and rehabilitating the former mine in 2013. The fourth vein in the mine, located 120 metres below surface, has now been dewatered and is ready for mining. Having four veins in production, as well as repairs to the underground equipment, is expected to stabilize the mining rate.

Photos of the Dufferin mine and facilities are available on the company's website at RessourcesAppalaches.com.
