ONTARIO – Mineral reserves are higher at both of Wesdome Gold Mines operations near Wawa. The Eagle River proven and probable reserve jumped 57% to 265,000 oz contained in 816,000 tonnes grading 10.1 g/t Au. Mishi proven and probable open pit reserves were up 8% to 121,000 oz contained in 1.79 million tonnes grading 2.1 g/t Au.

At the Eagle River mine both the new No.7 and 300 zones were the target of definition drilling. The development drift to the 300 zone is nearing completion and reserves there will be incorporated into the near term mine plan. The main 8 zone structure remains open at depth.

At Mishi reserves grew with the addition of a western extension. Mineralization remains open both to the east and west. The current life of mine plan has a stripping ratio of less than 3:1.

Wesdome is planning increases in definition drilling this year, particularly at Mishi, because the reserves blocks remain open to expansion.
