QUEBEC - Conway Resources of Quebec City is planning its preliminary program for the development of the former Belleterre mine in the Temiskaming region. The program includes dewatering and rehabilitation of the existing underground workings. Underground exploration drilling and bulk sampling is planned.

Conway acquired the mine when it acquired Belleterre Mining Resources at the end of June 2010. The mine was operated by McIntyre Porcupine Mines from 1936 to 1959 at a rate of 315 t/d with four shafts on the property. Nearly 2.2 million tonnes averaging 10.73 g/t Au were mined, almost all of it from Vein 12.

Conway president and CEO Laurent Beaudoin said in a news release, "Our strategy is to collect all the data required and build a strong technical team so that we can achieve gold production. We are also open to the idea of forming a strategic partnership with a company interested in financing this stage of work along with the production phase."
