QUEBEC – The exploration drilling program undertaken by Aurizon Mines of Vancouver at its Casa Berardi gold mine 65 km north of La Sarre has identified additional stacked lenses. The program was undertaken to improve the quality of the known Zone 123 resources and to delineate the extension of the mineralization.

Aurizon drilled 300 metres below the 810-metre level and 150 metres above the 550-metre level in an area of 300 metres along strike, 400 metres in width, and about 1,000 metres east of the West Mine shaft. Three new lenses outside the previously identified mineralized structures were intersected. The highest assay from drilling in this new area returned 19.2 g/t Au over 8.1 metres. The longest intersection was 13.8 metres grading 7.8 g/t Au.

Underground infill drilling continues from the 810-metre exploration drift. See Aurizon.com for additional information.
