QUEBEC - Dewatering of the former Elder gold mine 10 km northwest of Rouyn-Noranda began early in May 2011, announced owner Abcourt Mines of Mount St. Hilaire, QC. The company estimates that it will have to pump out 818,280 litres water over the next six to 10 months. The water level had been reduced to a point 100 metres below the surface when the announcement was made.

The Elder mine produced 350,000 oz of gold from 1944 to 1964. It is serviced by 14 levels and a shaft 794 metres deep. All mining facilities (office, service building, hoist room and 2-metre hoist) are in place and about half the mining equipment is available.

The Elder property has a measured and indicated resource of 805,028 tonnes at 6.5 g/t Au and an inferred resource of 237,289 tonnes at 6.1 g/t Au. Underground exploration drilling will be carried out.

A history of the Elder mine is available at www.Abcourt.com.
