QUEBEC - Definition drilling in the Martin zone at the Kiena gold mine in Val d'Or is "encouraging," says owner Wesdome Gold Mines of Toronto. The best hole returned 13.65 g/t Au (cut to 26 g/t) over a true width of 1.74 metres. The company will use the information for future mine planning.

The Martin zone lies about 1.2 km east of the Kiena shaft, strikes northwest and dips sub-vertically. It is a tabular zone consists of albitized quartz stockwork veining and quartz-albite-pyrite veining in brecciated tholeitic basalts. The former Martin mine, that was active from 1936 to 1938, is located about 1,000 metres from the zone currently under investigation.

Details from the most recent drilling in the Martin zone are posted at www.Wesdome.com.
