PHILIPPINES - There is nothing quite like 246.41 g/t (nearly 7.2 opt) of gold, even if it is only across 1.0 metre, to get the imagination going. But rather than rely on imagination, Edmonton-based MINDORO RESOURCES is conducting a well-considered drilling program at its Kay Tanda gold-copper porphyry property. The hole that returned the bonanza grade averaged 11.49 g/t Au over a 25-m section near surface.

The mineralization is classic epithermal hydrothermal breccias and stockworks, says Mindoro, and additional bonanza-grade intercepts are anticipated. The company hopes to develop an open pit and heap leaching operation at Kay Tanda.

At a cut-off of 0.3 g/t Au, the immediate exploration target is from 35.0 to 40.0 million tonnes of material at a grade of 0.76 to 0.80 g/t Au and 2.4 to 2.8 g/t Ag, containing between 860,000 and 1.0 million oz of gold and 2.7 million to 3.6 million ounces of Ag. GOLDER ASSOCIATES has been hired to prepare a NI 43-101 resource estimate.
