LA SARRE, Que. AURIZON MINES has arranged a $5-million private placement to fund the second phase of underground exploration at the former Casa Berardi gold mine. The program includes deepening and extending the present ramp in the West mine to the 550-m level from 450-m, drifting east to access the 113 zone and along the zone, definition drilling, and bulk sampling.
The complete program will take about 19 months, according to Aurizon, and the recent funding will cover this year's portion.
