BRITISH COLUMBIA - Calgary-based PRIZE MINING CORP. is basking in spectacular assay results from its Atlin property in the northwestern part of the province. Hole TWO5-02, drilled in the Yellowjacket zone, returned 853.29 g/t Au over 2.62 metres including 2,397.59 g/t Au over 0.91 metre. The same hole had a second intersection over 21.45 metres that assayed 11.49 g/t Au.

The Atlin camp is Canada's second largest placer gold producer, according to Prize Mining. The first discovery was made at Pine Creek in 1897. There are also numerous gold quartz veins near the known placers. Homestake was the last company to survey and drill the Yellowjacket property in the late 1980s.

Prize Mining completed nine holes last year, six in the Yellowjacket zone and three in the previously untested Rock of Ages zone.
