ONTARIO - With over 70 million oz of gold produced in the past 100 years, the Timmins area of northern Ontario remains one of the best places to hunt for new gold deposits. Vancouver-based LAKE SHORE GOLD is doing just that. Recent drilling on the Timmins West property returned a 4.0-m intersection that assayed 65.65 g/t Au (uncut).

Not every intersection was a rich, but other holes are returning encouraging results from four separate zones15.20 g/t Au over 6.5 m, 4.32 g/t Au over 15.2 m, 9.03 g/t Au over 12.0 m, and 50 g/t Au over 1.3 m (cut). The company says it has now traced the gold-bearing structures to a depth of 1,400 m and a resource estimate is due by the end of the year.

Two drills are currently in operation on the Timmins West property. Visit Lake Shore Gold at www.LSgold.com for the latest news on this and other projects.
