ONTARIO – Lake Shore Gold of Toronto has the results of the final holes drilled last year in the 144 Gap zone near Timmins, and has outlined a promising high grade mineralized area over a 250-metre vertical height, 75 to 100 metres wide and 50 to 75 along strike.

Highlights include 5.36 g/t Au over 47.0 metres, including 9.70 g/t over 18.40 metres; 4.09 g/t over 56.9 metres, including 13.94 g/t over 5.4 metres; 4.55 g/t over 39.6 metres; 7.09 g/t over 19.9 metres; 5.11 g/t over 19.4 metres; and 4.42 g/t over 21.1 metres.

Drilling near the northeast limit of the 144 Gap zone expanded the area of gold mineralization. Highlights there were 5.72 g/t Au over 10.5 metres; 32.47 g/t over 3.5 metres; 10.61 g/t over 5.3 metres; 78.44 g/t over 1.9 metres; 5.26 g/t over 10.3 metres; 5.61 g/t over 4.9 metres; 3.80 g/t over 20.1 metres; and 4.36 g/t over 11.5 metres.

The 144 Gap zone abuts the Thunder Creek deposit to the southwest. The zone covers about 4.0 km of the same volcanic-ultramafic-intrusive-sedimentary contact that hosts both the Thunder Creek and Timmins deposits of the Timmins West mine, said Lake Shore.

Drilling continues using six surface rigs, and an underground exploration drift is advancing. Lake Shore plans to do roughly 120,000 metres of drilling at the site this year.

Detailed core drilling results are available in the news release dated Feb. 24, 2015, and posted at LSGold.com
