ONTARIO – Lake Shore Gold Corp. of Toronto is wrapping up a successful drill program at its Timmins West gold mine 18 km west of Timmins.

About half of the program tested the S2 fold nose, a second fold nose structure similar to the main Timmins deposit. Cores drilled in the North Limb assayed 12.32 g/t Au over 9.3 metres, including 27.70 g/t over 3.3 metres; 5.57 g/t over 11.6 metres; and 11.72 g/t over 9.7 metres, including 28.84 g/t over 1.6 metres. In the South Limb assays came back as 12.85 g/t Au over 5.4 metres, 23.7 g/t over 5.0 metres, and 7.82 g/t over 3.6 metres.

A second area of interest was that below the current resource in the Footwall and Ultramafic zones. New mineralization was intersected there including 38.56 g/t Au over 3.1 metres, 6.28 g/t over 4.20 metres, 14.80 g/t over 4.9 metres, and 7.10 g/t over 5.5 metres.

Lake Shore continued its review of the geology west of Thunder Creek believing that it has excellent potential for multiple porphyry intrusions and more gold mineralization to the southwest along the Thunder Creek 144 trend. Unfortunately, the eight widely spaced holes in the contact between the Timmins and Thunder Creek deposits returned no significant gold values.
