BRITISH COLUMBIA – Barkerville Gold Mines of Vancouver has received permission to treat ore from its Bonanza Ledge property at the existing QR mill southeast of Quesnel. About 40 jobs will be created at the mill.

Mining is to begin at Bonanza Ledge in Q3 2012 and continue for four years. This will be an open pit operation with a dimension of approximately 365 metres long, 215 metres wide and between 90 and 40 metres deep.

The QR mill was originally built by Kinross Gold in 1994 to handle ore from the mine of the same name, the first mine Kinross built. QR closed in 1997, and Barkerville acquired it in 2010.

The unique mineralization of the Bonanza Ledge deposit is discussed at BarkervilleGold.com.
