QUEBEC Commercial production has been reached at the Barry pit and Bachelor Lake gold mill belonging to METANOR RESOURCES of Val d'Or, Quebec. The mill is operating round-the-clock at an average rate of 615 t/d and with over 96% recovery. The company poured approximately 13,000 oz of dor gold during the bulk sampling and pre-production phases of the project. Cash costs have been Cdn$375/oz.

The Bachelor Lake mill is capable of treating 700 t/d, and Metanor hopes to reach that rate through fine tuning and the third ball mill commissioned this summer.

Serge Roy, chairman and CEO stated in a news release, "Metanor is now poised to become North America's newest low-cost gold producer as well as continue to develop its current portfolio of properties which includes the ever growing Barry pit, the open at depth Bachelor Lake mine as well as the promising Nelligan property which is only 4.5 km from the mill."

Roy can be reached by phone at 819-825-8678 or visit www.Metanor.ca.
