GREENLAND - CREW GOLD, headquartered in London, U.K., has made the first shipment of ore from its Nalunaq gold mine (82.5%-owned) to its processing facility at Nugget Pond near Baie Verte, Nfld. The shipment consisted of 14,500 t of run-of-mine ore.

The ore has been loaded on a ship, and when it arrives in South Brook, Nfld., it will be trucked to the plant. Crew plans to establish a dedicated unloading facility at Snooks Arm, Nfld., by mid-2007.

Gold in the Nalunaq deposit is associated with quartz veins in a major shear zone. The deposit has an estimated 440,000 t grading 21.0 g/t Au in indicated resources, and another 3.4 million t grading 18.0 g/t Au in the inferred category.
