SASKATCHEWAN - Golden Band Resources of Saskatoon says its La Ronge gold project reached commercial production on April 1, 2011. The Jolu mil processed 9,912 tonnes of ore grading 10.25 g/t Au through April 18, producing over 6,500 oz of gold. The project is on track to achieve its target of 45,000 oz for the first year of commercial production.

The Roy Lloyd mine is producing 350 tonnes of ore daily from two blocks on the 1340 level. The next mining areas will be the 1325, 1295 and 1265 levels where development has been completed. The ramp is being deepened to prepare for a drilling program on the 1200 level later this year. The lower level contains an inferred resource of 155,074 tonnes at 13.89 g/t Au.

Golden Band has also completed mobilization for the start of mining at the Komis/EP site. Pre-stripping of the pit has begun and the first truckloads of ore are scheduled to arrive at the Jolu million in June 2011. The underground workings of the former Komis gold mine are also to be dewatered.

Details of the La Ronge project are available at www.GoldenBandResources.com.
