QUEBEC – Richmont Mines of Montreal has received the mining permit for its 100% owned Monique gold project in Val d'Or. Overburden removal will begin shortly to facilitate mining a 5,000-tonne bulk sample that will be treated at the company's Camflo mill 50 km away.

If the bulk sample results are positive, Richmont may made a commercial production decision. Open pit mining and milling could begin over the next two years. The open pit might potentially lead to underground development. The Monique gold property has indicated resources of 728,164 tonnes grading 2.35 g/t or 55,112 oz of gold.
