QUEBEC — The first 290-kg shipment of gold-bearing concentrate has been shipped from the Russian Kid mine near Rouyn-Noranda to the Johnson-Matthey refinery in Ontario, according to Globex Mining which holds a royalty in the project. The mine is owned by Rocmec Mining of Montreal.
Rocmec is using its patented thermal fragmentation process to recover narrow veins. The ore is then processed though a 75-t/d plant installed underground. Details are available at www.RocmecMines.com.
