ONTARIO – Toronto-based Northern Gold Mining has discovered a 600-metre long high grade zone within the Garrcon gold deposit 100 km east of Timmins. Hole 12-244 assayed 58.97 g/t Au over 1.0 metre, and hole 12-263 assayed 94.77 g/t Au over 1.0 metre. Previously released results from two other holes were 95.47 g/t and 82.74 g/t, again over 1.0 metre lengths.

The high grade zone was intersected during the 2012 nine-hole, 5,203-metre surface diamond drilling program. The company says the new zone is located more than 200 metres east of the historical Garrcon underground workings and at a greater depth. The zone has been intersected by 11 holes at depths between 270 and 530 metres below surface. At its western extend the high grade zone is believed to feed into the larger Garrcon low grade zone.

Updated Garrcon deposit drilling cross sections and a drill plan will be posted on the company's website, NorthernGold.ca/files/Garrcon-Cross-Sections.pdf, within a few days.
