ONTARIO – Toronto-based Primero Mining Corp. has released the maiden resource estimate for the Froome zone 800 metres west of the Black Fox gold mine near Matheson. Indicated resources of 200,000 tonnes grading 5.8 g/t Au have been outlined, plus inferred resources of 800,000 tonnes at 5.1 g/t Au. Together the zone contains 73,000 oz of gold. Primero is confident that the Froome zone will continue to grow. Recent drilling beyond the mineralization included in the resource estimate has returned good grades over long distances: 4.8 g/t over 46.0 metres true width; 4.7 g/t over 45.9 metres true width; and 8.6 g/t over 24.2 metres true width. Based on results so far, Primero believes initial production from the Froome zone could begin in the last half of 2017 to replace a depleted Black Fox low grade stockpile. Mineral reserves at the Black Fox mine now sit at 2.1 million tonnes grading 3.6 g/t Au (237,000 oz). Including the Froome zone, the total measured and indicated resources are 3.1 million tonnes at 5.2 g/t (521,000 oz) and inferred resource is 1.0 million tonnes at 5.8 g/t Au (188,000 oz).
