VENEZUELA Proven and probable reserve figures have jumped 22% at the Brisas gold/copper project in Bolivar State. The latest figures are 407 million tonnes grading 0.70 g/t Au and 0.13% Cu. Contained gold is estimated to be 91.2 million oz and copper increased to 1.15 billion lb. The project is owned by GOLD RESERVE of Spokane, Wash.
PINCOCK ALLEN & HOLT prepared the Brisas mineral reserve analysis based on 180,000 metres of diamond drilling in 803 holes. AKER KVAERNER is heading the work on a bankable feasibility study for a 70,000-tonnes/day conventional flotation plant, an on-site gold smelter, and shipment of gold/copper concentrate for toll smelting.
