BRITISH COLUMBIA – Vancouver-based Spanish Mountain Gold, using a 0.20 g/t Au cut-off, reports substantial increases in contained gold at its advanced exploration project 70 km northeast of Williams Lake. In the measured category, contained gold is 560,000 oz, a 69% jump compared to earlier estimates. Contained gold in the indicated resource is 2.62 million oz, up 40%.

The total measured and indicated resource is 216.22 million tonnes grading 0.46 g/t Au and 0.68 g/t Ag, with 4.78 million contained oz of gold. The inferred portion is 316.74 million tonnes at 0.36 g/t Au and 0.65 g/t Ag, containing 6.62 million oz of gold.

Spanish Mountain is preparing a pre-feasibility study with an October 2012 deadline. Exploration drilling of the Phoenix zone has been deferred until the PFS is completed.
