QUEBEC - Alexis Minerals of Toronto has released its annual update of resources at its Lac Herbin gold mine near Val d'Or. At the end of last year, the deposit had measured and indicated resources of 184,600 tonnes at 8.2 g/t Au and inferred resources of 283,500 tonnes at 7.4 g/t Au. The estimate was calculated using a minimum width of 1.5 metres and a cutoff grade of 5.0 g/t Au.

The 2010 measured and indicated resource estimate down is approximately 62% from the end of 2009. Francois Perron, Alexis president and CEO, noted, "The review of the mineral resource has underscored the need to continue exploration around our operations, and we are aggressively pursuing new discovery. As we go through this challenging period at Lac Herbin, our focus remains on our operations and to extend the mine life by following up nearby targets and infill drilling around the inferred resources of the mine."

The Lac Herbin mine produced 24,900 oz of gold in 2010.

Information about Alexis' other gold projects, Lac Pelletier and Snow Lake, is posted at www.AlexisMinerals.com.
