QUEBEC - The latest NI 43-101 compliant estimate for the Bachelor Lake gold project have significantly boosted resources. Measured and indicated resources stand at 841,591 tonnes (roughly double old estimates) grading 7.79 g/t Au. A further 425,148 tonnes at 6.52 g/t has been placed in the inferred category. The Bachelor Lake project near Desmaraisville is a joint venture of Val d'Or-based METANOR RESOURCES (50%, see www.Metanor.ca) and Vancouver-based HALO RESOURCES (50%).
To arrive at the new resource figures, results from an additional 13,346 metres of diamond drilling and the numbers from the recently acquired Hewfran property were included.
A two-stage program to advance the project to feasibility has been recommended. Bachelor Lake produced gold from 1982 to 1989 using a 450-t/d plant.
