FINLAND As Toronto's AGNICO-EAGLE MINES puts the finishing touches on its Kittila gold mine in Lapland this month, the company announced it has found another 1.0 million oz of gold to add to the resources at the project. Recent exploration outlined 4.9 million tonnes grading 6.4 g/t Au, 26% higher than the current gold reserve grade. This announcement brings the total contained ounces in all categories to 5.7 million oz of gold.

The possibility exists of significantly expanding the Kittila project, based on these results and the continuing exploration program, according to vice-chairman and CEO Sean Boyd.
