NEVADA – The sagging price of the yellow metal has forced Atna Resources of Golden, CO, to reduce the pace of underground mining at its Pinson gold mine near Winnemucca. Operations are being temporarily downsized and mining will focus on developed reserves. Core personnel and contractors will remain on site.

Atna aims to sustain a cash flow to support operations and maintain the underground infrastructure while the mine is being re-engineered to reduce operating costs. There are currently five operating stopes at Pinson. The entire mining operation is to be reviewed, and an open pit option will be studied.

As part of this decision, Atna management has withdrawn its current production guidance. For more information, please visit Atna.com.
