QUEBEC – Gold Bullion Development Corp. of Vancouver says the rolling start at its Granada gold mine near Rouyn-Noranda is closer than ever. The company has a permit to conduct more trenching in an effort to precisely define the best location to begin open pit mining on the Mousseau pit. The work is to be done by a local contractor and be finished within a few weeks.

The Mousseau pit has a probable reserve of 229,000 tonnes grading 4.37 g/t Au or 32,144 oz of gold. Plans call for it to be mined from year 1 to year 2 in the mine's life.

The city of Rouyn-Noranda has agreed to log the area covered by the mine site as Gold Bullion begins stripping. Gold Bullion calls this a "mutually and financially beneficial" arrangement for both parties. The company has also concluded noise monitoring studies and will conduct further water level studies of local wells as required to gain a certificate of authorization. Public consultation with the communities of Rouyn-Noranda and Granada are in progress.

Gold Bullion said it chose a rolling start model for the Granada mine as a means of de-risking the project and optimizing operating parameters in current economic conditions.
