GOLD: Temex achieves 98% recovery on Whitney sample

ONTARIO – Toronto-based Temex Resources says the results of metallurgical tests carried out on material from its Whitney high grade gold project are excellent.

ONTARIO – Toronto-based Temex Resources says the results of metallurgical tests carried out on material from its Whitney high grade gold project are excellent.

The test work was done by SGS Canada of Lakefield, ON, on a single composite sample that included 200 core samples collected from 37 diamond drill holes. The material had a head grade of 6.59 g/t Au. A recovery rate of 98% was achieved using gravity concentration followed by high intensity cyanidation. When the gravity tails were treated by carbon-in-pulp methods, the recovery was 96%.

Temex intends to reference the metallurgical tests as it seeks a custom toll milling agreement from one of several potential mill owners in the Timmins area.

The centrepiece of the Whitney project is the former Hallnor gold mine. It produced 1.7 million oz of gold when it was active from 1938 to 1968 and again in 1981. The Whitney project is a joint venture of Temex (60% and operator) and Goldcorp (40%).
