NUNAVUT – TMAC Resources of Toronto has released new resource estimates for its Hope Bay property 65 km east of Bathurst Inlet – an estimate that puts contained measured and indicated ounces at 4.4 million, a jump of 59% from earlier estimates.

The latest numbers cover the Doris, Madrid, Madrid South, and Boston zones. Together they have 14.37 million measured and inferred tonnes that grade 9.6 g/t Au for 4.44 million contained ounces. The inferred resource is an additional 5.39 million tonnes grading 7.6 g/t Au for 1.32 million contained ounces.

According to TMAC, the gold deposits at the Hope Bay are hosted within a large, Archean greenstone belt. The Hope Bay Belt has high grade gold occurrences and deposits over its entire 85-km-long length, with Doris and Madrid in the north end of the belt and Boston in the south. The belt is bisected Hope Bay deformation zone (HBDZ) down its axis over a length of almost 80 km. Known gold mineralization tends to be hosted in trends along splays and lower order structures both on the east and west sides of the HBDZ.

The history and additional details of the Hope Bay project are posted at TMACresources.com
