ONTARIO – Toronto-based Wesdome Gold Mines says early results from its deep drilling program at the Eagle River gold mine 50 km west of Wawa point toward two new mineralized structures. The purpose of the drilling is to confirm the potential of the high grade 811 zone and depth.

Work was carried out from an exploration drift in the hanging wall on the 670 metre level in the western part of the mine. Two holes 75 metres apart have been completed and a third is underway.

The new 7 zone lies 200 metres north of the 811 structure. Hole 693 assayed 26.85 g/t Au over of 3.45 metres (all true widths). Hole 694 returned 30.15 g/t Au over 1.52 metres.

The new 300 zone was intersected 400 metres north of the 811 structure. Hole 695 assayed 21.73 g/t over 2.42 metres, hole 696 assayed 20.24 g/t Au over 1.38 metres, and hole 697 returned 10.20 g/t Au over 1.51 metres.

Drilling has also confirmed the 811 zone to a depth of 1,200 metres, where hole 701 cut 1.73 metres grading 78.43 g/t Au. On the 765 metre level, the same zone averaged 36.61 g/t Au (with high assays cut to 140 g/t) with an average width of 2.13 metres and a length of 142 metres.
