ONTARIO – Toronto-based Wesdome Gold Mines is uncovering very high grades as it drives a development drift to the 300 West lens of its Eagle River gold mine at Wawa. Work returned 57.22 g/t Au with an average width of 1.60 metres over a drift length of 82 metres or 20.76 g/t when the high assays were cut to 60.0 g/t.

Wesdome president and CEO Rolly Uloth said in a release that the 300 West zone was discovered only two years ago. Getting the zone into production will add flexibility to the Eagle River mining plan.

The 300 zone is located in the western portion of the mine. These lenses are sub-vertically dipping quartz veins located 400 metres north of the mine's main producing structure.  Presently, the Upper 300 lens is in stope production and the 300 West lens is in development.
