QUEBEC – Mason Graphite of Baie-Comeau, QC, has struck up a partnership with the Manicouagan-Uapishka Biosphere Reserve (RMBMU) in respect to the company's Lac Gueret graphite mine 300 km north of Baie-Comeau and a mineral processing plant elsewhere in the region.

The main objective of the partnership is to ensure the project meets the highest standards of sustainable mining development and social acceptability. Mason will plan and optimize the project taking into account the concerns, aspirations and expectations of the community. This dialogue will help to harmonize land uses, maximize social and economic benefits and minimize its environmental impact.

The involvement of RMBMU will facilitate establishing a framework that will ensure harmonious integration of the project within the environment and the community.
