LONDON, U.K. – The International Council on Mining & Metals is seeking comments from interested organizations and individuals on the updated text of its Indigenous Peoples and Mining Good Practice Guide. Comments will be accepted until March 12, 2015.

The Indigenous Peoples and Mining Good Practice Guide was updated following the publication of ICMM’s revised Indigenous Peoples and Mining Position Statement that articulates a progressive set of commitments that applies to all ICMM member companies. Like the earlier version of the guide, the draft of the updated guidance document is intended as a good practice resource for mining companies and others with an interest in ensuring that mining projects bring long term mutual benefits to companies and host communities.

Download the draft in your choice of English or Spanish: Indigenous Peoples and Mining Good Practice Guide (.doc in English) or Guía de buenas prácticas: los pueblos indígenas y la minería (.doc in Spanish)

ICMM will accept comments as edits to the above documents or as a separate document submitted via email to gpgfeedback@icmm.com.
