The Mining Association of Canada would not be the voice of this country’s mining industry without the many long hours put in by the members of its various committees. Those committee members, and the association’s chairman, come from the ranks of industry. The same is true of many other professional and charitable organizations.

By the way, last weeks question about the effect of commodity prices on future plans attracted a disappointing 11 responses. Half of them said they have not made changes. Three times as many said development and expansion are going ahead (27%) than did those saying such plans are delayed (9%). The results are hardly scientific, but I wonder if a consulting firm with adequate resources has done a study of these trends.
