LABRADOR - New Millennium Iron Corp. of Calgary and Tata Steel Minerals Canada, partners at the direct shipping iron ore project, have awarded the general construction contract to an aboriginal-owned firm. Innu Municipal LP (IML) of Labrador City, will mobilize immediately and begin work on the foundation excavations at the site.

The processing plant, offices, warehouse, maintenance shops and related infrastructure are to be installed under a 106 x 182-metre dome with an apex height of 42 metres. The dome has already been ordered from a specialty supplier in Florida with delivery promised by the end of this year. It is to be erected near the Timmins No.2 pit.
