QUEBEC – Toronto-based Adriana Resources has put together resource numbers for the Lac Otelnuk iron ore property in Nunavik, and the numbers are in the billions. The project is a joint venture of Adriana (40%) and Wisco International Resources Development and Investment (60%).

The estimate was prepared by Watts, Griffis, McOuat using information gathered during 50,802 metres of drilling at the property in 2012. A cut-off of 18% Davis tube weight recovery (DTWR) was used. The deposit has measured and indicated resources of 20.64 billion tonnes grading 29.8% Fe, plus an inferred resource of 6.84 billion tonnes at 29.8% Fe.

Adriana says it has also completed geotechnical drilling and test pitting for the tailings management facility, process plant, airstrip and construction material borrow sources. An 80-tonne bulk sample was extracted and the pilot plant tests are in progress. Hydrogeological and rock mechanics holes for the pit design are complete.
