QUEBEC – Rail haulage has begun on the newly built KeRail spur that services the DSO iron ore project near Schefferville. The project is operated and 80% owned by Tata Steel Minerals Canada in partnership with New Millennium Iron Corp. (20%) of Calgary.

New Millennium reported that the first train was loaded at the DSO site on Nov. 2, 2014, bound for Silver Yards junction approximately 16 km to the south. The train will then use the Quebec North Shore tracks to reach the port of Sept-Iles where the ore will be transferred to ocean-going vessels.

Photo galleries and videos of the DSO project are available at NMLiron.com.
