WESTERN AUSTRALIA - IVERNIA INC. of Toronto officially opened its Magellan lead mine 750 km northeast of Perth on Sept. 30. The Hon. Alan Carpenter, Western Australia's Minister of State Development and Energy, officiated.

The mine will produce about 100,000 tonnes of lead for at least 10 years. It is an open pit operation with a 4,100-tonne/day conventional SAG milling and flotation plant.

Ivernia (www.Ivernia.com) has 100% interest in the project. Reserves are estimated at 16.2 million tonnes grading 6.2% Pb and there are additional inferred resources totalling 13.0 million tonnes at 4.3% Pb.
