MANITOBA GOSSAN RESOURCES of Winnipeg has filed a NI 43-101 report on its Inwood magnesium property in the south-central part of the province. The Fisher branch of the deposit is estimated to contain 34.8 million tonnes of measured resources averaging 21.18% MgO and 30.84% CaO. There is an additional inferred tonnage of 132.0 million tonnes at 21.32% MgO and 30.78% CaO.

The flat-lying Fisher Branch outcrops on the Inwood property. Gossan says the project has the potential to produce 80,000 tonnes of magnesium annually for about 35 years based on the measured resource alone. That would be a 13% jump in world production, compared to the 2005 figure of 610,000 tonnes, two-thirds of which came from China. The company has yet to complete a feasibility study for Inwood.
