RICHMOND HILL, ONTARIO - GEM ADVANCED MAGNETOMETERS has released a new generation of optically pumped airborne magnetometers and gradiometers for customers flying fixed wing, helicopter and unmanned airborne vehicle (UAV) surveys.

GEM's technology is based on the implementation of on-board data acquisition and processing with RS-232 data transfer in a single console. Users have the option of acquiring time, magnetic readings and optional GPS directly to a laptop; to a GEM-supplied field personal computer; or to a third-party data acquisition system where data can be merged with altimeter or other data streams. Control of data acquisition parameters is also possible using built-in system commands via the data acquisition platforms noted here.

The new solution builds upon GEM's proven line of airborne optically pumped potassium systems. These systems deliver the highest sensitivity available (4.0 pT / √Hz at 20 Hz); minimum orientation (heading) error of less than +/-0.0025 nT); and rugged design. These systems are currently in operation with various airborne data acquisition and private earth science companies worldwide. To learn more, visit www.gemsys.ca.
