TORONTO - Law firm FASKEN MARTINEAU, well-known in Canadian mining circles, has announced plans to merge with STRINGER SAUL to create the largest full-service Canadian-British law firm. Continued expertise will be available in AIM finance, mining, energy, life sciences, financial services, securities, aboriginal affairs, taxation, litigation and arbitration as well as the specialized areas of environmental, labour, human rights, intellectual property and information technology law.

The deal will position the London office of the combined firm as the largest legal office in the U.K. with full access to Canadian resources, support and client base, and will expand the global partnership to almost 650 lawyers in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, New York, Montreal, Quebec City, London and Johannesburg.
