SUDBURY, Ontario – a fire broke out at the Clarabelle nickel-copper mill belonging to Vale at about 9 am, Aug. 28. The local newspaper, Northern Life, reported that a conveyor caught fire but the cause was as yet unknown the same afternoon.

Two Vale employees were rescued uninjured from the roof by the city's fire department. The company said all employees were accounted for and there were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $2 million.
