NORTHWEST TERRITORIES - Vancouvers MIRAMAR MINING CORP. has restarted the autoclave at the Con gold mine in Yellowknife as part of its ongoing reclamation project. The autoclave will process all of the remaining arsenic-bearing sludge and calcine that remained after the historic roaster was shut down. The material will become environmentally stable scorodite. This part of the closure plan will be completed in Q3 2007.

Miramar then plans a final cleaning of the site and demolition of the ore blending plant, the mill and the autoclave late this year or early in 2008.

The company launched a website dedicated to communicating the status and progress of reclamation at the Con mine to the public at www.ConMine.ca. Provision has been incorporated at this site for Yellowknife residents to request information from Miramar on the status of its reclamation activity at the Con mine site.

Miramar has also offered its congratulations to the NWT Mining Heritage Society on the completion of a new history book entitled Con Mine: A Pictorial History. It combines historic photos with stories of the many people who lived and worked at the Con mine. The book is available for $20 at the societys website, www.NWTMiningHeritage.com.
