BRITISH COLUMBIA DRC RESOURCES CORP. of Vancouver has awarded the contract for the exploration decline and related underground development at the Afton copper/gold project to ROSS FINLAY 2000 of Val d'Or, Que. Work on the decline is expected to begin next month, and the project to be completed by July 2005.
Work includes a 2,000-metre exploration decline to provide lateral access and cross-cuts in the mineralized zone. Definition diamond drilling, bulk sampling and technical studies will be conducted so that the feasibility study can be completed. The underground excavation and drilling is part of the $18-million cost of the study.
