MINE HOISTS – ABB to send pair to China

CHINA - ABB of Vasteras, Sweden, has won the contract to supply a pair of mine hoists to the Gaohe coal mine, a joint venture of LUAN MINING GROUP of China and US-based ASIAN AMERICAN COAL.

ABB will supply both electrical and mechanical equipment including ACS 6000SD variable speed drives, 1,550-kW synchronous machines and AC800M control systems, and all mechanical parts including complete hydraulic brake systems. The delivery time is extremely short. All the equipment will be shipped to China in August 2007.

ABB continues its record sales of mine hoist systems since 2005, especially in the coal mining sector in China as coal still remains a key energy resource there. The previous delivery of two hoists to Tunliu coal mine of the same group was a decisive factor for ABB in winning this contract.
