MONTREAL - There seems to be no stopping GROUPE LAPERRIERE & VERRAULT (GL&V). Its Process Group is putting the Dorr-Oliver Eimco line of equipment into varied services in far-flung corners of the world. Three significant contracts have been announced so far this month.
In Turkey, GL&V is supplying over $1-million-worth of liquid/solid separation equipment for a coal wash plant. The deal involves two 12-ft-diam by 20-ft-long Wemco HMS drum separators and one 20-m-diam thickener mechanism to be delivered in the second quarter of 2005. The purchaser is the TKI Soma coal mine, one of the largest coal mines in Europe.
GL&V is supplying extraction, flotation and thickening equipment to a large Brazilian iron ore producer. The company is also supplying a deep-cone-type thickening system to an alumina refinery in Australia. The value of these two contracts totals $13 million.
High commodity prices are having an effect on suppliers as well as mineral producers. Visit the website at www.glv.com.
